Original question from "Idonot12b" from 20070612: From the INSTALL file for a driver I think I need... "You need a recent kernel, at least 2.6.6 or 2.4.26, with header files for the kernel. Make sure there is a link to the kernel source from the modules directory. The command ls /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build should have at least 'include' directory and '.config' file." Lest I not ask the right question... Dear YourLinuxGuy... I am a Linux virgin. I have a T42 ThinkPad. I'm trying to install SLED 10. The install didn't detect my WPC54GS PCMCIA wireless adapter. I found this NDISWRAPPER project... I think it's the right path... But I'm confused... Is it not possible to just download a freaking driver for Linux? How come it seems like I've always got to download, extract, expand, command line, make, build, etc. etc. etc. just to get to the point of installing? Why does it have to be so f***ing complicated. Linux'll never compete with Winblows if you have to be a bloody software developer to install a goshdarn network card. So, Mr. YourLinuxGuy, paint me a picture, pen me a verse, craft me a vase... How do I best add my WPC54GS to my T42 SLED 10 box??? Oh so many thanks, wise and esteemed guru of LunuxDom...
